Principles of Discrete Applied Mathematics

Lecture 19: Error-Correcting Codes—Hamming Codes

We show how to send information over a noisy channel and correct errors. We describe the 7-bit Hamming code and explain how it works. We then define linear codes and show how they work in general. Finally, we discuss more general Hamming codes.
